Hawzah News Agency- Shia source of emulation Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi, during a meeting with the members of late Grand Ayatollah Safi Golpaygani’s office, named him as a valuable and noble Islamic figure adding that, The funeral and burial ceremony of the late Ayatollah Safi was held in the best way possible and with dignity.

He expressed hope that late Ayatollah Safi’s good name and excellent position will remain among the members of his house as well as his office.

Grand Ayatollah Makarem also referred to late Ayatollah’s writings, highlighting that his publications are considered as a lasting and unique work among Muslim society.

Shia jurist Ayatollah Makarem referred to his acquaintance with the late Ayatollah Safi and added, I met him and his brother in the late Ayatollah Boroujerdi’s seminary courses for the first time, adding that among the students of late Ayatollah Boroujerdi, he was considered to be one of the most prominent ones.

He also referred to the late Ayatollah Safi Golpaygani’s collaboration with the School of Islam magazine and said, despite his age; late Ayatollah Safi was an enlightened and up-to-date figure, and this can be clearly seen from the stances he took regarding the new developments in Muslim world in various events."

Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi considered it necessary to hold a congress to honor the various dimensions of late Ayatollah Safi’s personality and his great scientific and jurisprudential position.

The Shia jurist added that some unveiling ceremonies must also be held in order to introduce late Ayatollah Safi’s works and articles hoping that this trend will help to preserve these spiritual works in everyone's hearts.
